It 100% works, If you have a faster internet then it won't work, I had to Open over 10 4k Videos on YouTube & Running a Speed test also help your internet slow down!

how?

SIgn in to your second controller first from the xbox menu (NOT ingame) so it still should say Press (A) to sign in

Then search for the cage match until it says please wait. Search for two ...

I don't think this works anymore. Or I mean, it works if you can get it to fetch and "Please Wait" at the same time, which I cannot get anymore. No matter what I do and even with UDP Unicorn ...
