The only thing I can suggest is to delete local content and reinstall the game.

Clean, unmodded i think most servers are vanilla but modders come on the server and start spawning ammo caches and weapon crates and it just spoils it.

I thought DayZ was free? you just have to buy ArmA Combined Ops and there are vanilla servers, you just have to change servers when a sad modder comes on.
