Personally i believe that the bombings were necessary, however i think they should have used The U.S navy to pound away at the Japanese, or just surround them and let them die out. Suffocate them from supplies/resources

Japan did not deserve what happened to them, what they teach you in school about its "gods way of revenge after pearl habour" is complete bullshit. The American educational system is screwed up big time.

Ant no offence but I recommend you don't speak on behalf of America unless you actually live here. I've never heard anything about "Gods way of revenge".

The reason the bombs were dropped were to save American lives. The Japanese had no intentions of stopping the war, and were going to keep fighting until their last soldiers even though there was no chance for them to win. In reality the bombs being dropped cost less lives than letting the war go on for who knows how long.

Also, Japan is now one of the USA's strongest allies. Hence the reason we're supporting them so much now.

I do understand were you are coming from, I take no offence from anything to be honest.

As for were I get my information, I googled it after being told by an American friend of mine.

Although I cannot 100% confirm this, I can gather its being taught somewhere as some schools in America teach creationism (stuff like anti Darwinian theories).

I apologise if I offended you by any means, it is not my intention to do so.

Steiny wrote true, but now look at all the other countries who have developed/developing nuclear weapons. Plus, the war was basically already won
Japan would never of stopped, not even if it meant sending rowing boats to the American shore and sending thousands/hundreds of banzai troops or suicide bombers etc.
