Well I've seen many members complaining about getting deranked on COD 4, and now needs to get 21 billion XP to get to next rank.

Well here is how to avoid it

If it happends that you join a game that has minus XP per kill in cod 4 then if you want to not stay at lv.1 with minus xp then you just take your game out or turn off your 360 console.

When you do this then your MP ( Multiplayer )data does not save. If you take a kill and leave the game to main menu then your rank will save, so to avoid getting your rank saved ( if in minus xp lobby ) you just turn off your console or dashboard.

There is plenty of xp lobby hosters in this section that hosts right now =)
