So i made a serial probe, connected it to a 'USB to Serial' cable because i dont have a serial port, anyways I managed to read my lite on drive, it is a lite-on 74850c, it kept coming up invalid so i looked around and found right before i actually read the flash i have to unplug the drives power cable then plug it back in and then click read and it will give me all 10 keys as Valid. Anyways got that all done, opened JF, opened my dummy file and spoofed the lite-on 748 LT+ with the dummy file, then saved the FW and wrote it back to the drive. Everywhere i read that once you erase or "unlock" the drive you no longer need the probe and no longer need to have the tray half open or unplug it quickly etc.. So i simply re-opened DosFlash64 and simply wrote the new LT+ FW spoofed with the lite-on info back onto the lite-on drive an it said it was successful so i powered everything off and unplugged it all and hooked the xbox up to the tv, tried to run a game. it read a normal xbox 360 game fine but wouldnt read any of my backed up games, Also the most annoying thing, the dvd tray constantly re-opens and has issues. I gave up with it, spoofed a BenQ LT+ FW with the lite-on FW and put it on a BenQ drive i had laying around and it works fine but i want to know why the lite-on drie is having issues, what did i do wrong?

sounds like your computer or dosflash wasnt writing the firmware properly. Lite-ons are tricky beasts. Some go well with no problems, and others, take 2 days out of my life lol. Simply use Jungle Flasher. It works a little better for the lite-ons. Just erase it and write your firmware since you already have your key. As you said, no need for the probe, and no need to have the tray half open. Just close it, erase it, get a flash status 72, write it, Done.... Hope that helps somewhat. Everyone has different problems with different chipsets.
