nice job for your first time. I do these for people to make money. do 2 coats of for Color. wait 15 minutes between coats. and wait 24 hours to put the tape on and spray immediately after you put tape on. the 2 coats. then clear coat it with 2 coats. and wait about a week before playing with it. by the way. use krylon fusion spray paint

Not bad.

Grab you some thin detail tape (is only a couple bucks) and lay out your design on the controller. Mask off everything thats not going to be that color and then lay down light coats of color. Let it get just past tacky (testing on the masked off areas) and then slowly remove the tape - that will give you crisp lines. After its dried, reverse tape and mask and do the same steps. When your colors are down and dried you can either take it to the next level by lightly color sanding with some 2000 grit wet dry and then clearing it or just lay your clear over it (gloss, semi, flat).

Going this route will leave your newly painted control smooth, without feeling the lines from the different colors of paint. If you want a excellent base to work from primer and sealer is the way to go.

Keep up the good work.
