My group figured out a glitch for ray gun. If you already have the ray gun then it gives you a light machine gun or commando. But what u do is shoot the top of the box, back up, lay down, and shoot the bottom. It only worked one time. I also know that there is always a trick to getting ray gun, there is just a different trick for EVERY GAME U PLAY. which is really dumb

in truth, there is NO way to always get a raygun/thundergun/wintershowl/etc. People tried numerous ways to get the raygun and thundergun by doing unnecessary 360's and shooting the box a number of times, and when they were "lucky" to get what they wanted, they post that "theory" and claim that that is how to do it. But in reality, the random box is just pure "luck". Its called "Mystery" Box for a reason....

it doesnt matter if you do it once and get a ray gun or even if your entire group does it once and gets rayguns. There is NO glitch to get any specific weapon every time (be it thunder gun/ray gun/gersh devices/ or anything else). The way the Mystery Box works is, it is a random number generator with each gun assigned a specific value. This means NO MATTER WHAT YOU DO, you always have an equal chance to get any gun. Is it possible to all get rayguns on your first rolls of the box? Yes, but it is fairly unlikely.

It isnt a matter of "i did this and it worked for me" because that can be 100% attributed to chance. It is a simple matter of how it is programed. For one of these random theories to work, it would NEED to be specifically programed into the game (which treyarch would have no reason to nor want to do since it would ruin the concept of the Mystery Box).

its RANDOM. nothing you do will change what gun you get. as soon as you have pressed the button to open it its picked your gun for you.
one time on five got mostly snipers or pistols, nothing worth keeping,
then next round i got the ice gun (forget the name) ray gun and monkey bombs one after the other.

The Mystery box is all random.... there's just no way.
