Despite failing to maintain its highly impressive opening week sales figures, Resident Evil 5 remains firmly on top of the UK gaming chart.

The Capcom title made it two weeks at the top of the UK ChartTrack All Formats Top 40 despite witnessing a 52 per cent drop in sales, with Wii Fit again finding itself in second spot.

However, Resident Evil 5 outsold its nearest challenger by a ratio of 5:1 in the opening week, but this was cut to a much closer 2.7:1 for the week ending March 21st.

Professor Layton and the Curious Village climbed one place to three, while debuting title WWE Legends of Wrestlemania opened up its chart life in fourth spot, with relatively equal sales witnessed on the PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360.

Tom Clancy's HAWX lies fifth, while Rockstar may be slightly disappointed that Grand Theft Auto: Chinatown Wars failed to fare better than sixth.

It is the franchise's first offering on the Nintendo DS and in its launch week failed to sell half the copies shifted by Vice City on the PSP.

In its debut week, Resident Evil 5 sold more copies than the rest of the top ten combined to top the chart.
