It doesn't last for 90 seconds. It can't be upgraded. From what I hear it goes when you use up all your ammo - Max Ammos can help in keeping for a longer period of time.

I've also heard that killing George after doing the Easter Egg, when you pick up the Death Machine you'll get a Wunderwaffe instead!!
