Outbox is what you sent out BUT has NOT been viewed.
Sentbox is what you send AND has been viewed.

a message remains in the outbox untill the reciever views it whereas the sent box keeps the message hope i helped

outbox is when you send something and the user never read it sent box means they read it

outbox is a message going out that has not been received by the person you sent it to yet. The sentbox is messages that the user has received
