WTF wanna be metal bands. Whats so different about todays metal and the metal in the 70s? Theres only one difference which is screaming. Basically in the 2000's people brought metal up a notch and instead of just singing, they would scream or nowadays pig squeal and etc. Everything else is no different. The breakdowns are still the same, and the music still heavy. Heavier than the 70s type of music. Same thing with punk. Nothing has changed from the 80s till now. So I don't get how your calling bands like August Burns Red, A Day To Remember, Suicide Silence wannabe metal bands. I mean "wannabe" medal bands? LOL
Their completely different, today's Metal bands are all fake and kind of emo and are just in it for the money, unlike the 70's and 80's metal bands which also had real music, instead of machines making their drum beats and their voice changer in today's bands.
Slayer is just Thrash metal like the new bands if you want proper metal listen to Led Zeppelin or Black Sabbath
Black Sabbath Invented Metal, and Led Zeppelin isn't metal their more like hard rock.
No Led Zeppelin created metal as it was much more heavy than other bands at the time and they ended up getting the title for heavy metal and Black Sabbath came soon after. I dont really think they did create metal but just help create the genre with their heavier music

The metal that you are hearing must be very emo because the metal that I listen to aren't emo at all.
