Synopsis
The year is 2027. The world as we know it is unraveling after fifteen years of economic meltdown and widespread global conflict over dwindling natural resources.
A once proud America has fallen, her infrastructure shattered and military in disarray. Crippled by a devastating EMP strike, the USA is powerless to resist the ever expanding occupation of a savage, nuclear armed Greater Korean Republic.
Abandoned by her former allies, the United States is a bleak landscape of walled towns and abandoned suburbs. Homefront is a police state where high school stadiums have become detention centers, and shopping malls shelter armored attack vehicles. A once-free people are now prisoners or collaborators or revolutionaries.
Join the Resistance, stand united and fight for freedom against an overwhelming military force in Homefronts gripping single player campaign penned by John Milius (Apocalypse Now, Red Dawn). Stand alongside a cast of memorable characters as an emotional plot unfolds in this terrifyingly plausible near-future world. Experience visceral, cinematic first-person shooter action as you fight your way across Occupied USA using guerrilla tactics, and commandeer military vehicles and advanced drone technology to defeat the enemy.
Homefront multiplayer brings epic warfare to the online arena as infantry, tanks, attack helicopters and combat drones battle across huge, open battlefields. A rich feature set offering layers of tactical depth combined with a game-changing innovation in the multiplayer space will set a new benchmark in online warfare.

Story
The story is well written, no doubt about that, the game uses visuals well to bring home the sadness and reinforce the narrative. This story is like a short but good book, you can run through it in no time at all and still feel satisfied or if you prefer pick up a tiny piece of the action one bit at a time and still really enjoy it.
Having played most FPS on offer today I already had an idea of what I was expecting from the single player. Similarly I had an expectation of how the game would be set out. I was not disappointed in either case. The story takes place in the not so distant future in a world we all know and recognise, well if your living in suburban America that is.
The story kicks off by briefly letting you know who your playing as and then soon after letting you know that the resistance had you in mind to join them (not that you get a choice in the matter). As far as you can make out your an ex American Airforce pilot that is in hiding from the Korean invaders, the resistance informs you that they need your flying skills of course you will mostly have to get involved in other leg work as well, the things that keep the resistance rolling.
Having accepted your new role you then go on to learn about the resistance, the struggle they face, the harsh Greater Korean Republic regime being forced upon them and how far they are will to go to fight.

Gameplay
Like most FPS you will have a range of toys to play with the usual guns and a few surprises to make your job a bit easier. Once you enter multiplayer the game allows your character to unlock their full potential with options that allow them to become a much more efficient solider, such as weapon attachments, gun camos not forgettting character perks that allow such things as faster reload/quicker ads and a whole bunch more.
You also gain the ability to spend Battle Points as you play on silly little things like Hellfire, UAV, Tank's, APC's, Remote Control Scout's, Helicopter's even Body Armour and Thermal Vision is included. Making Multiplayer very fun and probably the aspect of the game that you'll spend most time on.

Graphics
To say that THQ threw this game together would be a lie, this is a fairly nice game to look at but like most games the real test is in multiplayer as the story handles the gameplay very well and no obvious problems to worth noting. I will say that throughout the game the use of lighting is great, not hide in the shadows ninja great, but enough to create the right look for that moment.
So then your expecting me to tell you it falls apart online? Surprisingly no, although at times in can feel a bit bogged down when half a team decides to call in air strikes at the same time, it quickly recovers. It does well considering the big maps as well I haven't noticed considerable draw lines that some other games suffer from and once again considering the size it has to deal with it does well. Well enough to not ruin your playing experience. I guess it looks like a version of BF2 and BF1943 minus destruction but better in some respects.

Controls
The main controls (running, aiming, shooting) are an adaptation of any COD game, very easy to pick up and not awkward to use.
The game assigns the D-Pad on consoles as your main source when you need to select special weapons and the other things such as vehicles are selected from the spawn menu. Vehicles are fairly easy to use with most ground vehicles using the Halo point and drive, while air items are controlled similarly with the added ability to ascend/descend.

6/10
Great campaign but really short. Multiplayer lag ruins it. I give it a 6 because I had fun for a few days. Overall huge letdown. If you must have it rent it or wait for a price drop.

I Found The Game To Be A Huge Let Down, Campaign I Didn't Find Entertaining At All I Got Very Bored Easy, As For The Multiplayer I Found That To Be Even More Annoying It Just Consists Of People Camping At The Back Of The Map Or In The Hills With Snipers Not Even Attempting To Go For The Objectives & It's Just Very Frustrating To Play.

Yea the campaign was too short but the story was decent. As for multiplayer a lot of people do just snipe but it's really easy to sneak up on them and knife like five in a row. I used to use this technique to get a tank then just own even more for the rest of the game.
As for people saying it's laggy I don't agree. When the game first came out it suffered a lot of online problems because they wasn't expecting it to sell as well as it did so they wasn't ready, but they fixed most problems. If it's lagging for you then it's probably your connection that's to blame because I never noticed any unplayable lag, nothing like the lag in oh say COD/Fifa/Pro-Evo/BF2.
