i Have a old Dell Inspiron 8130 backup laptop.
and my maacbook cracked :/
anyway i can make this laptop better? faster?

Turn the appearence settings down, make the background a solid colour.
Get a USB stick or SD card and put it into the laptop and use readyboost.

Install Linux on it! If you only want to use it for browsing and such (which is about as far as that thing will take you), Linux is perfect!
It makes older systems like this one run very fast, doesn't get Windows viruses (it is Unix, like OSX), and it is free. I know someone with an old computer like this who has Linux on it, and it is snappy and very customizable. I also have it on my Macbook Pro, too.
If you really get into it, you can learn a thing or too about the BASH (Bourne-Again Shell), which is a bit like the command line in windows or the Terminal in OSX.
