Here in this post, I will try to cover all the new features of the new Wii-U

In addition to displaying the picture from on the main TV screen, the controller comes with a gyroscope for motion control features, rumble capability, a forward-facing camera, microphone and speakers. It can also be used as a standalone web browser or as a magnifier for web pages displayed on the main screen.

Nintendo said that as well as providing basic camera functionality, the camera can be used for video calling in conjunction with the microphone and speakers.

The screen on the Wii U controller which is currently of unknown resolution does not have its own GPU, instead it receives a video stream from the main console; meaning that it needs to stay in wireless range of the unit to function.

Nintendo Spokesman wrote
While Wii U is compatible with all current Wii peripherals including the classic controller and the balance board, and backwards compatible with all Wii games, the main draw of the system is its tablet controller sporting a 6.2 inch 16.9 touch screen. Powered by a rechargeable battery, the device streams visual information from the Wii U unit wirelessly. All the actual processing is done in the console itself, the controller is just a display. The buttons are ripped straight from the classic controller, two analog sticks, L and R triggers in addition to ZL and ZR, dual analog sticks, a d-pad and face buttons are all included. The device also features a microphone, gyroscope, accelerometer, rumble, camera, and a stylus.

The console itself is HDMI compatible. It's capable of outputting with HDMI, composite, or component cables in 480i, 480p, 720p, 1080i, and 1080p.

The console has no Hard-drive, but runs on SD cards and Flash drives.

The Wii-U will be compatible with original wii remotes, balance boards (Virtually all original Wii controllables)

Nintendo chiefs say that the graphics on the Wii-U will blow away gamers. (Games will come on an unspecified DVD sized high-density disc.)

1up.com wrote A HD Zelda demo briefly shown during the conference supported HDR, water effects, reflections, hi-res textures and all the other graphical bells and whistles you except in a modern console game. IBM has even said that the tech that powers Wii U is the same that powers to Jeopardy super computer Watson.

Vicarious Visions, THQ, Ubisoft, Warner Bros, 5th Cell, Namco Bandai, Irrational Games, Disney, and EA all pledged support for the system.

When and How Much?

The system will go on sale sometime next year. I'd bet in November, but Nintendo could still surprise us. Pricing was not announced.

I shall update the thread with more information as it comes.

More hardware features

The console uses "proprietary high-density optical discs" will hold 25 GB of data -- the same as a single-layer Blu-ray Disc, which im pretty sure are the same type as PS3. (Whether the Wii U will read Blu-ray Discs, or even DVDs, remains unclear at this juncture.)

The Wii-U was revealed not to be able to play GC games and use GC controllers like the original Wii (GC=GameCube)

It is rumored that the Wii-U will have 3-D glass such as the 3-DS

UPDATES

It appears the original Wii's Gamecube controller compatibility will be binned. while there will be four USB ports under that hatch/at the rear and there will still be an SD card slot. There will also be some internal storage, though you'll be able to boost that by plugging in an external drive. And, as befits an HD console, there will be HDMI onboard, in addition to S-Video and component. Also expect 802.11n Wi-Fi
