I've noticed that for such a long time, it's just because it's the 3rd game made by IW, so IW3. Even in the rap in the credits Griggs says "3rd installment, Infinity Ward..." So yeah it's just cause it's the 3rd CoD by IW.

Around 2:29 is when Griggs says it...
