NuckFuggets' E3 Spec Ops Survival Demo
Straight from NuckFuggets' Post :
I was able to get my hands on Spec Ops a couple times while wandering around E3. The first time I played with an IW employee. Then COD Blackice and I played together.
The map we played on was called "Dome". Essentially survival mode and potentially other Spec Ops modes are playable on any MP map and with the rumored 20 maps for MP, that's a ton of choices!
Let's nip this in the bud right now... the only similarities that Survival has with Zombies is that there are multiple waves and it gets harder with each wave. The similarities begin to break up at this point.
The entire map is open at the beginning of the game... meaning no sections you have to buy to get open. Perhaps the biggest difference with Survival and Zombies is that in MW3 you have enemies who are shooting back at you. So in zombies you have ability to run around to get away from zombies. You can't do this in MW3 Spec Ops Survival as your enemies will shoot you. So in this respect I believe it's a bit harder.
The highest round I go to during the demo was 20 I believe. Throughout the game you have an in game currency system that you can buy guns, ammo, equipment and killstreaks. You can buy a Delta Squad that drops down 5 or 6 friendlies on the ground. They remain in the game until they die so protect them!
Some of the enemies you face will include enemies with C4 strapped to them when they die and even dogs that have C4 strapped to them. There are juggernauts in the Survival mode and a few different kinds as well. Know their weaknesses and use it to your advantage... it will help.
There is a revival system much like MW2 Spec Ops. You can buy the Last Stand perk as well so you can revive yourself. Something that will come quite handy in later rounds where your partner won't have time to revive you. The other cool part about the currency system is you can share money and use the "ammo boxes" to get things at the same time. You don't have to be at the same box to share money either.
Spec Ops is just 2 players and while I know many of you think it should be 4 players, the experience was much more enjoyable with just 1 other friend. Don't have a friend to play with? No worries, you can do solo or find a player online.
There is a progressive ranking system for Spec Ops that is separate from MP. The details on how this will work are still kind of blurry with no clear defined "this is how it will work" answer just yet.
Please note what I played was Pre Alpha code so anything could change how the game works or is played but will update you as I get confirmed changes.
