Hey TTG, Just thought i'd share an informational thread on Lulzsec, and Anonymous.

If you did not know, the Notorious "hacking" groups have decided to team together and expose governments across the world for what they really are. They've also taken down and defaced government websites, taken down VARIOUS web sites and domains, obtained thousands and thousands of user information of various gaming industries and forums, and also, took down the gaming partition of Sony for around a month.

Lulzsec information: Lulzsec formed in 2011 (this year). They actually just disbanded as a "hacking group" as of June 26th, 2011. They ended their "50 day hacking spree" with a release of 750,000+ accounts on various gaming forums and a major game called Battlefield Heroes. According to various sources they're still somewhat affliciated with anonymous, just not as their own little group though. Their first ever recorded "attack" was back in May, on the Fox news website, due to the news calling the rapper "Common" vile on their broadcast. They leaked several passwords, and the names of 73,000 "X Factor" contestants.

Their next "attack" was on May 15, when they released transaction logs of 3,100 Automated Teller Machines in the UK.

But they REALLY started to become known for the attacks on PBS, which also was in May. They stole user data from the site, and posted a FAKE story on their Website consisting of Tupac Shakir still living, and he was in New Zealand.

They've also claimed responsibility for an attack on Sony in June. They said they stole around 1,000,000 accounts, but Sony later repealed and said the real number was only 37,500 accounts.

The group then continued to attempt to attack Nintendo, A networking security company, An adult film website, Betheseda Game studios, and released Mediafire accounts.

But their biggest debut had yet to come. They moved on to Government Websites, which is what have made them so widely known. (besides publicity from other websites)

-June 9th-

Lulzsec sent an email to administrators of the British National Health Service revealing an exploit in their website to them, but did no harm to them.

-June 13-
Lulzsec released the usernames and passwords of the United States Senate, or senate.gov. They also released root directories of the site.

-June 15-
Lulzsec managed to give a DDoS attack on the United states cia.gov website. (Central intelliagence agency.) Nothing was released otherwise from the attack.

-OPERATION ANTI-SECURITY (Anti-Sec)-

On June 20th, Lulzsec announced to the public that they were teaming up with Anonymous for what they call "Operation Anti-Security". They've also asked that anyone who feels up to it to take part in this aswell. They've attacked a multitude of Government websites on this day which include; brasil.gov.br, jhq.gov.cn, presidencia.gov.br, and the SOCA website. This was considered a declaration of war by USA Today.

-June 23-
The group(s) release called "chinga la migra", involves the Arizona Department of Public safety, and they released a mulitude of documents pertaining to usernames, passwords, and papers which are only meant for "official use".

Anonymous Information: Anonymous is probably one of the biggest "hacking" groups ever to be known throughout the internet. They're not about causing mayhem though, they have a cause. Their cause seems to be to expose governements for what they really are. They formed in 2003-2004, originally as a "meme" on the imageboard 4chan.
The group seems to promote freedom of speech whenever they can aswell.

-Attacks-

The group for whatever reason, got on the popular social networking "game" Habbo Hotel and blocked off swimming pools declaring "closed due to Aids." They made formations in the form of Swastikas, and then Habbo admins started banning anyone wearing the exact suit the characters were in.

Hal Turner, a white superemicist, had his website taken down by Anonymous. The attacks costed him THOUSANDS in bandwith bills. He then tried to sue 4chan and other various sites but the lawsuit fell apart.

-December 7, 2007-
A global television network claimed that Anonymous was responsible for an internet predators arrest. The man had multiple charges against him involving weapons and sexual touching.

-January 2008-
Anonymous forms Project Chanology, in result of a leaked video from the Church of Scientology. The video was taken down, but then Anonymous attacked the website, prank called, and sent black faxes to them, Saying it was an act of censorship. Later in the month, a video was released declaring war on the church. Another video was then released asking to gather for a protest, which turned out successful. Protests continued for around 2-3 months, and had a global turnout of around 7000-8000.

-March 2008-
Epilepsy Forum Foundation was attacked by Anonymous, attempting to provoke seizures and migrains in people with Epilepsy. There is no other information on the attack.

-June 2008-
Anonymous claimed responsiblity for attacks on Support Online Hip Hop and Allhiphop websites. They managed to deface SOHH, steal information, and provoke DDOS attacks on the two websites. Following the attack, SOHH was further taken down by it's Administrators.

-January 2009-
Anonymous targetted a teen who goes by McKay Hatch, leader of the No-Cussing Club. Her home address and other personal information was leaked, and had Adult films and bogus pizza deliveries to her house.

-May 20, 2009-
Anonymous went on youtube and posted Adult film movies/videos (against their ToS) and diguised them as Children's videos. One victim posted on one of the videos "I'm 12 years old what is this" which later on became an internet meme.

-September 2009-
Operation Didgeridie. The group attacked in an attempt to protect civil rights after imageboards began to get blacklisted in some countries. They then continued to deface and DDOS the Prime minister of Austrailia's website, Austrailian Parliament of House, and almost took down it's Department of Communications.

-December 2010-
Wikileaks becomes under pressure to stop leaking secret United States Diplomatic Cables. Anonymous then supports Wikileaks by DDOS'ing Paypal, Amazon, Mastercard, Visa, Swissbank, and Post Finanace.

-April 2nd 2011-
Anonymous launches an attack on sony. They managed to take down Playstation Websites, and Playstation Network for an amount of time. This was part of Operation Payback. They later moved on and stole thousands of Users information and led to a month long downtime of PSN.

-June 27th, 2011-
Anonymous attacks and seizes a Tunisian Government website, due to the Tunisian Government continuing with their Internet Censorship.

Rest of 2011 news-
Anonymous originally sent a letter to Westboro Baptist Church, stating that they weren't playing games with them basically. They later defaced one of their websites and I belive DDOS'd them.

As stated in the Lulzsec Portion; They have teamed up with Lulzsec to participate in operation Anti-Sec.

Lulzsec Symbol: Couldn't find much info on this one, all I know is that it's a meme. The Lulzsec video sort of talks about it. [ Register or Signin to view external links. ]
