In the latest issue of OXM, the guys speak to Beachhead Studio boss Chako Sonny, who has gone on record to say that both Call of Duty 4 and Modern Warfare 2 may well indeed be supported by Elite.
Not sure what this would mean for both Black Ops and Modern Warfare 3, where their minds are set on at the moment, but going back and supporting a four year old game isn't the best of ideas. Although Call of Duty 4 is one of the most popular games being played on Xbox LIVE, I don't think the players care so much for what Elite has to offer.
Come November, would anyone want to go back and play these two games? As a fan of the successful franchise, you would want to make the most of it while you can, but can Activision afford to throw support behind titles that will be considered overdue, once Modern Warfare 3 is on the market?
If they could, I would love to see them offer the full Elite experience, at least for Call of Duty 4 and Modern Warfare 2, for free. Give your fanbase a reason to pick up the controller and play these games again. You also give them an insight on what Elite has to offer for newer titles and possible future releases.

"We haven't ruled anything out yet, but we've been laser-focused on Black Ops implementation, and more importantly, instrumenting the service to support every game that comes on from here," he said.
"The challenge is cracking open the old games, because it only works well when it's built next to and within the game," added Activision's vice-president of digital for Call of Duty Jamie Berger.
"We'd love to do it in theory, but in practice it's a lot harder than it sounds. The focus is first to get it right on our current ones forward, and then we may make the decision to go back at some point."
