This one was originally on my list to buy but then I recently looked at this one...

I'm looking for a 6gb/s hdd but I've heard that some of the larger sized hdd's have problems. Is this true?

The F3 is far better. It has the best reputation, speed, and price.

SATA III (6 GB/s) is useless for mechanical hard drives since they are not anywhere near fast enough to saturate the SATA II (3 GB/s). It is a gimmick feature.

Also the F3 has a promo code for 5 bucks off: EMCKCKB22

1 TB drives have no problems, but sizes above 1.5 TB like the 2TB WD Greens and the massive 3TB drives do have reliability issues.

Thank you for replying and also thank you for revealing that it is a gimmick feature. I appreciate your support.

Any time! You might also want to buy 2 of the F3s while they are cheap and set them up in RAID 0. In that configuration, they compete with SSDs and get reads of around 300 MB/s.

Question, what is RAID 0? I know I could google it, but you and Generation seem to be the computer guru's around here.

And I don't have any parts for my rig yet because I don't have enough saved up. If I buy the F3 and use it on my computer that I have now, I could just wipe it and use it when I buy everything else for my rig correct?

Yes. You probably want to search RAID on Wikipedia, it explains beautifully. Quite a good read.

The 1st one is the superior drive. It is impossible to deny.

And why would you not like them? Do you have a better 1TB drive in mind or something?
