Can anyone help me with choosing a good motherboard ect for a gaming pc that im going to build

(never built one before and want to do it so thats why i need help choosing whats gonna run games that are out there now maxed out)

I Got an : AMD Athlon II X2 M300 and thats in my gaming laptop which is an Acer aspire 7540G , and i find it very good ...
