So, I am planning on building my own Computer. I figure I have about a $1000 spend limit, so I got a list of everything I need. Here it is:

Case- [ Register or Signin to view external links. ]
Power Supply- [ Register or Signin to view external links. ]
Motherboard- [ Register or Signin to view external links. ]
Processor (CPU)- [ Register or Signin to view external links. ]
Memory (RAM)- [ Register or Signin to view external links. ]
CD/DVD Drive- [ Register or Signin to view external links. ]
Speakers- [ Register or Signin to view external links. ]
Monitor- [ Register or Signin to view external links. ]
Video Card- [ Register or Signin to view external links. ]
Fan and Heatsink- [ Register or Signin to view external links. ]
Harddrive- [ Register or Signin to view external links. ]
Windows 7- [ Register or Signin to view external links. ]

and this is the price of everything:

Case- 49.99
Power Supply- 89.99
Motherboard- 129.99
Processor (CPU)- 219.99
Memory (RAM)- 69.99
CD/DVD Drive- 18.99
Speakers- 14.99
Monitor- 149.99
Video Card- 189.99
Fan and Heatsink- 29.99
Harddrive- 64.99
Windows 7- 94.99
= 1123.88

If you could link me to something better, I would appreciate it. I would like a computer that can run most newer games smoothly, at more than Mid settings.

Thanks for the help, Generation.

Thanks. But I'm not the only helpful member here. There are a ton, like Skruffy,jokeshow,r00t_b33r..etc.

Anyways...

Don't go with that Biostar mobo. They aren't the highest rated and is a little too risky.

This board will allow for better overclocking, crossfire and is more trusted.

The i5-2300 isn't the best choice for this setup. An i5-2500k will be optimal since it can be OC'd to at least 4.0 ghz on stock..which is INSANE!

You would want to get a dual channel kit of ram that runs off of 1.5 volts or less. You could manually set it to 1.5 v, but save yourself the hassle and buy a 1.5 kit.

I wouldn't go with that EVGA heatsink. A hyper 212 / gaia is cheaper and probably will give way better temps. This thing will bring your i5-2500k to at least 4.0

1tb HDD for only 4$ more? Why not. This spinpoint f3 is very very very highly rated by a ton of people and will not fail you ( Well, so I heard. ).

If this build is too pricy, you can always leave out the extras and buy them at a later date.

Thanks for the help man. So I'm guessing I can't really build a powerhouse gaming PC for under $1000?

Well, I need a monitor. I'm on a laptop right now. But, does everything else look good? Such as the video card.

I don't think it's a good idea bro.

You can buy a much better computer probably than you are gonna make for a few hundred dollars cheaper.

Also, if you screw up on software and wires, your screwed.
