Hello all. I'm in a bind. I need to know if my GeForce GTX 550 Ti [2GB Video Memory] (Link: [ Register or Signin to view external links. ] ) would work on my barebones kit which i'm purchasing soon (Link to Barebones Kit: [ Register or Signin to view external links. ] . I've never installed a Graphics Card that was using cables; I'm used to plugging the card directly into the PCIe Slot and installing the drivers (Best I had was a GeForce 8600). So if it does work, where do I connect that exactly?
Thanks,
Elusive.
Thanks,
Elusive.

Yes it does work. That's a petty good build you got there. The instructions will tell you where to plug them in to. The cables can't really be plugged in incorrectly so there is nothing to worry about. When I built mine I had the same problem but a little observation helped. You might want to think of a better power supply though. Maybe between 500W or 700W to help. They don't even show the power supply in the description so it's probably a crappy one. Also what's the need of a six core processor? Most games only use 1 or 2 some 3 or 4. BUT 6??? Are you an editor? Because if not there is no need for it. You might want to think of a different barebone kit.

The only thing you need to worry about is power supply. I saw your post about buying a 750 watt. That's plenty!!! Heck, that's overkill man! You'll have a sexy computer when you're done brother!

I was also debating that myself. I'm between 2 things. Getting the six core processor and never having to upgrade that, or getting a quad-core and a better graphics card from the money I saved. Then again, you can't beat that price.

Elusive wroteGood point. But I think a better graphics card will do because games are not CPU intensive. 4-core is enough.1yoyo105 wroteElusive wroteGood. I keep reediting my post as I read along. I also wanted to know what you thought of my set-up i'm going to buy shortly. I also wanted to know 2 other things. If it can run 1080p HD perfect on the 550 Ti and if I needed to add anything else to the list to complete my computer. Also, if that sound-card is even needed or if that barebones kit comes with one installed. I'm trying to keep my budget under $1,000. Also, I was wondering if I need 2GB on a video card; would 1GB do the job just fine on 1080p?
