I'm looking into upgrading my video card so I can play Battlefield 3 on my computer. I meet all the Ultra settings requirements except for graphics. What I want to know is if the GeForce GTX 460 is compatible with my desktop.
Manufacturer: Dell
Model: Studio XPS 435T
Processor: Intel Core i7 CPU
RAM: 9GB
Windows 7
Video Card: GeForce GT 220
The one I have now can barely run the Alpha Trial on Low.

A GXT 460 will not run BF3 on high / maxed out @ 1920 x 1080 or higher. You're looking for a 6950 / 6970 - GTX 560 ti / gtx 570.
As long as you have at least 1 2.0 PCIE slot, it will be fine. You also have to remember how much power these cards require. I recommend a solid 550w PSU or higher.
Also, how do you have 9gb of ram? They don't sell 3gb sticks o.O

My RAM has a few very small ones, 8 32KB, 4 256 KB, and an 8MB, to answer that. And i do have a PCI-Express. All that i need to do is find the Power Supply Wattage. Thanks!

I know you said a 550w would be good, but would my current 475w power supply do the trick?

It depends if it's a quality PSU or not. I highly doubt it's any good though since you bought your PC from Dell.

Could you recommend a Power Supply that is compatible with my computer and is 550w then?

Here's a solid XFX pwer supply. XFX is owned by Seasonic..so it's one of the best out there.

If you want a little more 'head room', you go up to a 650w. Corsair is also one of the best out there too.
