This is my first time building a custom computer.So please excuse my noob like self

VideoCard- *I have 500USD left for a video card*

These are the things I have already. Give my opinions/links on better ones within my budget. The big thing I need help with is my graphics card. I also have 100USD for accessories but there not that important atm. Is there any vital thing I am missing?

There is no point in going with the older 1336 chips. Intel has released the 1155 chips. They are cheaper, more overclockable and better suited for gaming. Games also don't need the hyperthreaded cores..like most apps.

i5-2500k vs i7-950. This is the i5-2500k at stock. It can be OC'd to at least 4.5 ghz.

500$ for a video card? I smell a GTX 580..

Also, why did you choose such a crap monitor? No point in getting a very high end video card, when you're playing at a super low res. A nice asus 1920 x 1080 monitor would be perfect.
