How to use your phones 3G/4G connection to browse on your computer!

What is Tethering and will it cost me anything?

Tethering is a way to use your phones 3G/4G connection on your computer, this makes it easier for you to use internet on vacation/anywhere away from home. This WILL cost you money if you do not have a unlimited data plan on your phone. If you do not have a unlimited data plan, then I suggest you to keep a eye on the phone so you do not your data usage limit, if you do you will be charged money and it will not be my fault. If you do have unlimited data plan, browse away!

Easy 4 step Tutorial

Step 1: Go to [ Register or Signin to view external links. ] and select whichever phone you have, in this case an android device because this post is for androids. During installation PdaNet will add an ethernet interface ("en2" in most cases) to your network list. If the network preferences window pops up, just selected "Apply" with the default DHCP settings

Step 2: Click on PDANET for the Android device. You should get this page(Spoil). Then click download for mac/windows. Click the Free download, The only thing with the free version is that you will not be able to visit crypted pages/Aka secure sites (Emailing site/Microsoft sites). You will have premium for the first 15 days.

Step 3: Once you downloaded it and installed it on your computer,Go to your phone and enable "USB connection" You also have to enable USB Debug, Which is Settings>Development>USB Debugging. Then Connect your phone up to your computer and go to your PDANET Program, and click Install to phone, Make sure you install it to your phones download directory.

Step 4: Go to your phone and enable USB Tether then once enabling usb tether go to your computer and open PDANET, and click CONNECT.Once you click connect you should be able to connect to your phones 3G/4G connection, enabling you to browse the internet without having a modem/wireless connection.

When you have the app PDANet open you should see two options to click. They should say "Enable USB Tether" and "Enable Bluetooth DUN" Click on "Enable USB Tether" and make sure USB Debugging is Enabled.
