So tomorrows my birthday and my dad bought me a chip for my controller off ebay. We installed it and all the modes work great. The only problem is that I have to press the sync button like 10 times before it will switch modes. What did I do wrong?

every time I press the sync button it flashes once. then after like 10-20 presses it will blink however many times for the mode I just switched to.

You might have screwed something up will placing the chip inside the controller. If thats not it, have you tried holding the sync button?
