The biggest religion on earth. Could it be a mutated version of many religions?
Almost 10,000 BC there was a pagan god, Mithras. Mithras was seen as a saviour god, came to earth to rid humanity of evil, he offered people an after life. His birthday is celebrated on december 25th.

St.Paul, describes himself as the apostle of the gentiles, or as we know them today pagans. Paul was extremely determined and practical to convert non believers, and he even admits in his letter to the Corinthians. " I have become all things, to all people, that i might win them to christ "

Now what he meant by that was he was willing to adapt and adjust himself to whatever circumstances he found himeself, and if that meant, borrowing a little bit of pagan religion, then so be it. Mithras is said to have had a Virgin birth also, based on cave/wall drawings we know that the meals that were dedicated to Mithras were focused on Chicken, Bread and Wine. Sound Familiar yet?

When Jesus first appeared 2000 years ago, he was born into a world full of pagan Gods. If he was to survive, he would need to compete with them on their terms, this could mean re-working some of the best "ideas" that had already existed for thousands of years.

Just after the first world war there was an incredible series of a archeological discoveries in the UK. They revealed a network of roman temples from London in the south, to Hadrians wall in the north. They were dedicated to a pagan religion that existed at the same time as Christianity, to a God that had striking similarities to Jesus, Mithras.

Theres even a story that shepherds, witnessed Mithras' birth, but in all honesty that was a much later story, and we do not know at this point if the Christianity and Paganism were getting intertwined.

Now, what i am not doing is trying to convert youto an atheist, I'm just trying to get some people to open their eyes

What do you think?
