Aha that is a lot of people's problems - And many people don't know what Jailbreak to use that's why i made this post but i'm going to make it into a mega thread, with more in depth detail.

I have a 4.2.1 and there are all of these higher versions that would be able to jail break my ipod touch so much faster. like the ones in the jailbreakme thing. how do i get a higher version because when i click check for updates it says 4.2.1 is the highest one. please help

Hello, i have an iPod 4G version 4.2.1 and i used GreenP0ison - It only took a matter of minutes. But if you really want to update your iDevice then all you should have to do is plug your iDevice into your computer and load iTunes - and it should automatically update your iDevice.

Is that what you meant?
