So i know a lot of people love to rant and rant and rant about how god awful the series is now and I sort of feel that way too but i thought i would express my opinion on it and where i think it will go from here.
The first call of duty i got and i think it was most peoples first CoD was CoD 2. honestly it was probably my favorite game for a very very long time it introduced a multiplayer really never seen before and brought fun and excitement to the xbox.
I skipped CoD three because i friend had it i tried it and never liked it. so i didn't buy it simple as that
In late 2007 CoD 4 was released. i can say without a doubt in my mind that it is my favorite game of all time i still play it now and i think it should be considered one of the greatest shooters of all time. I Logged over 17 days of play time in it and it really raised the bar for first person shooters. unfortunatly the game is full of infections and other things but its not unplayable like a lot of people say
The next year treyarch released CoD: World at War. in my opinion i thought that this game was a let down. i now a lot of you might disagree but it had a lot of glitches and bugs in it, i thought the graphics and engine was very poor compared to CoD 4. but i did buy it and play it although i only had around 2 days played on it. and like cod 4 this game is also over run with modders, much worse than cod 4 actually and i think that it makes the online multiplayer unplayable
When 2009 was coming to a close infinity ward released one of the most anticipated games of all time, Modern Warfare 2. This game is very controversial and has many mixed opinions about it but i will give you mine. It sucked. It sucked hard. I really think that this game was disappointing and not at all what it was hyped up to be. it was a very easy game to get good at and did not require very much skill(Flame all you want). there were things like danger close one man army noob tubing, balance issues with the guns, terrible map layouts and a lot of other things that i could get into but over all it was a terrible game in my opinion. it has come to my attention though that this community seems to like it, not sure why but you do
And Finally the most resent CoD game, CoD Black Ops. I think that this was a MUCH better game than MW2 for many reasons. Some being that it required much more skill do to the fact that there is no stopping power, guns have a lot more recoil etc. there were some gun balance issues like the ak 74u and famas but it wasn't overwhelming. overall i liked this game and think treyarch did a very good job with it.
MW3 could go either direction i hope infinity ward learns from their mistakes of MW2 and makes it much better and yes i will be buying the game when it releases in november.
Flame away

I agree with MW2. It takes absolutely no skill at all, almost no recoil and was unbalanced (I also hated perks, but another time). I'd prefer Black Ops over that "game" any day.
