Also the light seems bunched up and going to the left, yet the render is to the right.
You need to add more.

Good aside from one thing that isn't lighting in the background really it's supposed to be sand since in the show Gaara is in he uses sand, there's brushes and gradients in it they just are super noticeable as that's how it was requested. I'll probably be doing a second version working on the blending and try to make the sand + other things you listed more apparent.
