I think this zombie here is Maxis.

Maybe Richtofen didn't leave Maxis in Der Riese but he had already been turned into a zombie at that point when he found him but he cryogenically froze him and hid him somewhere up until this point.

What if when the rocket launches on Ascension it has the body of Maxis on board and his plan is to release him when they get to the moon and also Richtofen has the space suit on in Ascension so i think that is a bit of a coincidence. When the teleporter messes up and they are trapped behind the door in Call of the Dead maybe that is when they are trying to teleport to the moon but are taken to Shangri La where Richtofen retrieves the Focusing Stone and the Golden Rod and they are the final 2 pieces he needs for his scheme.

Then when Maxis is released he is one of the bosses in the map and you have to kill him to gain the achievement but he will be really hard to kill like George was in COTD.

I think Richtofen is the zombie in the image Look at both of the images and look at the lips, teeth and smile/grin they Look the same
