Modern Warfare 3 is going to be a massive success regardless of what they decide to include, revamp, or take out. The fact that 'Call of Duty: Modern Warfare' is on the box will be more than enough reason for millions of gamers to go out and buy this title. However, that hasn't stopped Infinity Ward from including a whole slew of new and improved features.

In an interview with Giant Bomb, Mark Rubin, Executive Producer for Infinity War, revealed a whole bunch of new details about the new Modern Warfare and its Spec Ops and Survival Modes.

Introduced in Modern Warfare 2, Spec Ops Mode is back and is getting a bit of an overhaul this time around. Modern Warfare 2's Spec Ops Mode consisted mainly of single player maps turned into mini vignettes. They almost became like their own little storyline apart from the game. Well, those mini, bite-sized pieces of action are going to be making a return in MW3, but rather than just being done with that segment at the end and moving on, you are going to have a character that progresses through the mode similarly to a multiplayer character.

It will be a separate character, but when looking at your Title card, you will see your multiplayer level as well as your Spec Op level. However, the weapons are going to unlock at different levels in order to balance gameplay.

A new mode is also being added called Survival Mode. You may initially think 'Nazi Zombies,' and that may not be far from the truth. This mode is a wave-based mode where each subsequent wave gets harder and harder. The game isn't jsut going to throw more enemies at you in an attempt to make it harder. Rather, the types of enemies you encounter will determine the intensity of the game.

You are going to see plenty of stuff in Survival Mode that you will not encounter in the main game, however.

Yes, you read that correctly. There are going to be exploding dogs in Modern Warfare 3!

If the battle gets too intense, you can call in various types of air support. The two revealed so far consist of one group of basic infantry-type soldiers and another group armed to the teeth with riot shields, who follow your every move and create a type of Roman Phalanx around you to help you take out the enemies.

To mildly validate the 'Nazi Zombies' mindset, there is absolutely no end for Surival Mode, so regardless of how awesome you are, you will never, ever succeed, especially by yourself because the game mode does not scale according to how many people are playing.
