this problem can also occur wen the band that spins gets streched, if you open the tray and just look into the drive, right at the front u will see an elastic band on 2 wheels, like a bike chain, this is the band that is strached, you can either get some tweezers and take it off and replace it with a new 1, or take it off, put a smaller, thin band onto the big wheel, and then put the original band over the top, this increases the gap making the band tight again allowing it to open the tray properly

Is there a way to fix the E78 error?

I have an old normal xbox what used to work until i tried to delete everything off the hard drive through transfer cable and when i tried to turn it on it came up with 3 lights and i have tried towel trick and so on but it doesnt seem to be working and now it goes to 3 lights straight away and then after a couple of seconds it turns to 2 red lights and the fans stop, is there any possible way i could fix this? thanks for your time

0011 means that the CPU is overheating. It might have to do with the heatsink not seating correctly on the CPU core or possibly caked on thermal paste. But since it kept freezing before, it sounds like it's on its way to getting the 3 rrod/0102, 0110, 0020, 0022 or E74.

You'll need a reflow to fix it. I highly recommend against heatguns, towels, pennies, or overheating it (putting fan on CPU to let GPU overheat = very bad for the console).

Hey. I'm new here and I have a question about hotswaping. When I tried to hotswap, my disc shot out of the drive. It poped off the spinner. I will have a video posted about this later today.
