If this does happen to someone first thing you do is pull out / turn off your internet on the computer/laptop.
then you will 9/10 times need the original windows disc to to restore your computer also if you haven't i suggest you download malware bytes and get a good security.

just thought i would let people know that before i said something on topic,
its messed up that they would phone you and tell you something is wrong, they must have the virus on something that would get the attention of older people as most older people are not as "update to date" as younger people on computers etc.

Good thing is, both my Grandma and my Aunt have crappy PC's anf were going to replace this year anywho.
