so im going into college and im studying computer science. I need to know which computer do you guys recommend for the major. I will be programming and working with a lot of programs. I heard getting a windows computer would be better than getting a mac. Will dual booting windows on a mac be the same as getting a regular windows computer. Money does not matter.

Programming and editing programs will do some work on your PC, so a solid CPU ( i7-2600k ) and at least 8 gigs of ram would be a must. A nice Nvidia card wouldn't hurt either, it has CUDA, so it'll be beneficial when editing.

Are you planning on building the PC? Or buy pre-built?

You'd probably want a Mac.

Note: This is coming from a guy who hates Apple.

I say this because Macs have really long battery lifes. They also weight close-to-nothing.

It's going to cost you though.

These Asus laptops are really good deals for the price, BUT some of them have short battery lifes. So it's a trade off.

99.9% of the time it's the opposite of what you just said.

I'm using an Asus Laptop that cost around $300-400, as long as you have a good video card. Your good to go.
