Alright guys, so let me start off by saying that I like games for what they are. Campaign, Online, and other perks all play a major part in helping me choose a game to buy. I was wondering what you guys think about Battlefield 3 and Modern Warfare 3. Not which one is better, per say. I want to know how other people feel about the games. What makes one game different from the other, what game you think will have more sales and why, aspects of the ame you enjoy as opposed to aspects you don't enjoy. I'll start with my OPINION. Opinions are the only things allowed here. No one say anything such as "Fact", unless you can prove it's a fact.
Anyways, this holiday season two major FPS games are scheduled to come out. I believe the Modern Warfare 3 will obtain more sales than it's opposing Battlefield 3, but I also believe Battlefield 3 will come much closer than any other game has come to COD. I believe that when a majority of people see the three simple words that are "Call Of Duty", they believe the game is better. This does not actually mean the game is better than any others, but it became known as such. This is due to the Fact that COD was one of the first of it's kind, and it did extremely well. As people realized how good this game was, they failed to realize that other developers also made good games afterwards. In other words, COD started something. That is the reason I believe many people fail to see other games as significant. If Battlefield 3 came out named "Call Of Duty: BattleField 3", I bet it would have more sales, for the exact same game.
I personally am going to buy both games coming this Fall. Let me tell you why. It has to do with the simple fact that I expanded my horizons. I realized that just because it has "Call Of Duty" in it't title doesn't make it better. I do like COD, and I may always, but in my opinion, it's getting a little boring. I'm personally starting to dislike some features, such as COD Points. "Complete all these difficult Challenges, THEN BUY this." That's absolute Bull****. I want to see what another developer can offer me. BattleField 3 looks like an amazing game, and anyone that says otherwise better have a damn good explanation as to why. MW3 looks great too, but it also looks just like MW2. Maybe I just want something different, I don't know. What I do now is that I will be purchasing both games this Fall because I personally want to test them both out. Let's see how they really compare, with an unbiased opinion.
What are your thoughts?

im being honest here. all the vehicles and shit are the only good thing. it will be like homefront with a cool story line but with overall shitty gameplay. im telling you the way it looks when youre holding your gun and running and thr little details will look like absoloute shit. mark my words.

wellsee it depends what kind of guy you are if you like fast paced non strategic shooter go with mw3 if you like realism and more strategy go with battlefield 3. and for camping i heard mw3 will make it harder to camp and rewards for participating. and if you played medal of honer you saw that if you stayed to long in one position you go on fire :onfire: . im not sure they will add that in battlefield but its a good idea to *hint* *hint* those are my opinions hope i helped

I will indeed mark them. I'll come back to them when the game comes out, and we'll see.

I have played both the Battlefield and Call of Duty series to their full extent. I am, however, only going to buy MW3 this fall. That is because my experience with BF has been terrible, the fact that destructible environments are in the game may sound cool but I hate them with a passion. You think you're safe but really, you aren't. The vehicles create an overpowered atmosphere where being on the ground is an unfortunate place. Call of Duty is infantry centered and arcadish which I like because if I wanted a realistic military experience...I would join the damn military. You can say that it's fun to play 32 on 32 but it really isn't, too many people, too much room and too many f'n tanks.
The one thing that really, REALLY turns me off from BF3 has nothing to do with the game itself. It has to do with the people behind the game. I am SO sick of hearing about how Call of Duty is soooo bad and how it will "rot to the core". Like seriously, just advertise and promote your game but leave the competitors alone.
If you think about it, CoD has never talked crap about BF and I'm pretty sure they never will. Whenever I hear when they talk more s***, I just wanna go to EA's headquarters and punch all of them in the face, just make your damn game.

I will be happy for EA's battlefield to finally successfully beat Activisions call of duty. They have been going at it for years, and Call of duty always took number one over both companies.
I remember when i was just a little boy and my dad was playing a game called "Codename Eagle".. i would sit there and watch him play this game for hours on ends sometimes, and it was just absolutely some of the most fun i ever had watching someone play a game lol
I got my first gaming rig from my father in 2002 and i was playing a game called Americas Army for days on ends.. but on September 10, 2002 EA and Dice released a game called Battlefield 1942, this game was absolutely amazing back when i was about 13 years old.. I remember to this day doing a self scoop while playing capture the flag.. It was where you would get to a high altitude and dive down and flip your vehicle upside down grab the flag and hold "e" on the keyboard and hop into your plane as it was in motion and fly back to your home base and capture the flag.. it was amazing fun..
I remember when Battlefield had no single-player lol all it was, was conquest.
But on October 29, 2003, the very first Call Of Duty came out. and i never hated a game so much in my life. Played it for about 2 hours online and i just absolutely sucked at this game very much and uninstalled it from my PC..
But on October 17, 2004, A MOD for battlefield 1942 came out called "Desert Combat", It changed the whole game into a modern shooter instead of a ww2 shooter. This gametype gave a whole new perspective for battlefield, and they bought the rights to the mod and the mod team was never heard from again?
But around March, 2004 a Mod for the Vanilla call of duty came out, called Call of Duty "REVOLT" mod.. It was a reamped version of call of dutys ww2 game into a modern warfare type of game just like for battlefield just with out the vehicles and the call of duty gameplay. I reinstalled VCOD, and installed this mod, and fell in love with call of duty.
And then again battlefield tried to 1up themselves with another game Battlefield Vietnam in 2004.
Battlefield Vietnam graphics where to intense for video cards back in the day and gave the game a HUGE HUGE fps lag.. but then again a good video card did run for about 400 - 500 dollars.
And then in 2005 Battlefield 2 gets released. This game has a spectacular multiplayer. it brought KITS to a whole new level.
I remember when this dumb video was made lol!
Battlefield 2 was amazing. But was not as fun as Battlefeild 1942, but i still played the game till about 2008.
On October 25, 2005 Call of Duty 2 came out.
that's when gaming got real addicting. With all the amazing mods, Zombie mods, jumper mods, realism mods, any mod you can think of it came out for COD2. I clocked Call of Duty 2 Multiplayer - 2,144 hours (FROM 2005 - 2011) according to xfire with that game. ( free sponsorships, lans, gaming rigs, razor mouses, headsets) it was one of the best games i still play to this day.
Battlefield 2142 was released in 2006. This time battlefield thought they wanted to make a futuristic game and it was not as great as i thought it was going to be..
It was cool for a bit but it was exactly the same as the other battlefields just with new vehicles and weapons, game gameplay, same graphics.
Call of duty 4 November 2007
I have nothing to say about this game, except it came and conquered every single gamer.
I could keep going with Battlefield: Bad Company, Metal of honor, COD WAW, COD BO, COMW2 and say more things about these games games, but no matter what you say, Activisions games where always better than EA's games. except for battlefield 1942.
The way i look at EA, DICE. They might of actually finally made a game worth playing for once. From the trailers i seen i actually like how some of the style of gameplay is not "fixed" like the other battlefield games and they added lot and lots of new codes and even a new reamped engine with Tile-based deferred shading acceleration, for PC and playstation and Morphological Anti-Aliasing. The game is going to look absolutely beautiful, even with out a HDMI cord and they just did a great job with the prone feature. I have not seen "going prone" sense battlefield 2. But over all Battlefield 3 is going to be amazing.I will play COD:MW3 more than Battlefield 3 because Call of Duty is a lot more competitive, and is like addiction, like smoking or drinking all the time.. when you mix all three together, yeahh its not healthy for you lol. But who knows maybe not with Battlefield 3. I really hope Battlefield finally added capture the flag back into multiplayer.
