Iscabible responded. I'd also like to add the JVC HA-FX1X, Sennheiser PX-100 II, and Koss Portapro.

I know it says not to do this, but im a rebel...

Beats are overpriced, but they are some very god sounding headphones. People say they suck probably because they listened to 30 secs of a song, then decided they hated them. I have had tours, studios, ibeats, and I have the "beat box" ipod docking stereo. All of them are better then 95% of headphones around. But, if you don't like heavy bass, then don't waste your money. If you do, then you should consider buying a pair, (if you have the money.) And just because you DON'T like heavy bass, doesn't mean you should post saying how much they suck. If you actually LISTEN to them, you will hear the difference in quality. They are much clearer then Bose, skull candy, sony, or most other big name brands. Ill admit, yes they are over priced, but they are still top notch stuff. They also look good:)

"People say they suck probably because they listened to 30 secs of a song, then decided they hated them."

No. I gave them a good audition like I would any other headphone.

"I have had tours, studios, ibeats, and I have the "beat box" ipod docking stereo. All of them are better then 95% of headphones around."

Your argument is very one-sided, then. Also, they're better than $5 iFrogz garbage and the like, of course. But do I recommend those? Look at the headphone guide in the OP to see some good headphones. Headphones a fraction of the price thrash the Beats, and that's a fact based on measurements, testing, and subjective and objective testing.

"And just because you DON'T like heavy bass, doesn't mean you should post saying how much they suck. If you actually LISTEN to them, you will hear the difference in quality."

Beats actually have sub-par bass. I was thoroughly unimpressed with them, to be perfectly honest. If you want bass, there are better options, again, for a fraction of the price. And yes, I do love bass. I also love mids and highs. And what do you mean I don't listen to them? The difference is not a positive one, either.

"They are much clearer then Bose, skull candy, sony, or most other big name brands. Ill admit, yes they are over priced, but they are still top notch stuff. They also look good:)"

Bose and Skullcandy (generally speaking) are garbage for the same reasons Beats are. Overpriced, underperforming, poorly-built, etc. Sony cans, again, THRASH Beats. You're comparing Beats to the wrong headphones, as Beats users always do. They are grossly over-priced, and in comparison to other headphones, their quality is pretty bad. Read all about it in the OP. Also, looks are subjective, so moot point. There are better-looking headphones out there, too. I personally find the Beats excessively gaudy.

To add on to what r00t_b33r said, have you tried any $300 headphones other than Beats? Have you ever tried a Denon D1100, Sony XB1000, Audio Technica PRO700MKII, or an Ultrasone? Clearly not. Beats aren't the only bassy headphones in the world; I hope you realize this. You just look pretty...uninformed. I've tried Beats at least 5 different times in my own home with my own music and sources/amps. No matter what, I'd be hesitant to position them anything above entry level ($100) in terms of sound.

They're probably better than 30% of all the headphones in the market now in all price ranges. And they'd only be better than the cheap crap that's OEM'ed anyways. Even Beyerdynamic's lowest end headphone sounds better than Beats, and they're $50. AKG's $40 K518 shames the Studios. Sennheiser's $30 HD218 is about equal, but Sennheiser's notorious for having nothing good until you pay north of $150. And I've only been talking about the most popular headphones manufacturer's lowest end headphones. Their midrange headphones make Studios look like toys.

And I LOVE heavy bass. I'm a closet basshead. I've been wanting a JVC/Victor DX1000 for years. They're the king of bassy headphones. I know what sounds good and what doesn't. Beats have mediocre bass in reality. They have oomph, but it ends up being so muddy that it's almost disgusting for the price point. Anybody that can hear should be able to tell the difference between good bass with separate notes from the muddiness Beats have. There are myriad headphones that can do that. Heck, I have $30 bassy headphones that can do that better than Beats. Beats are bottom level stuff.

Oh, and I actually kind of like Bose's AE series. The AE1 is one of my favorite $150 headphones when taking everything into account. Sure, they sound as unrefined as a 4th grade school band, but they're colored in a very fun way and they're incredibly comfy. Shame their headband is so fragile. The OE series is gross, and the QC series is shamefully expensive.

The unibody design of Beats are admittedly good, but who in God's name decided that glossy plastic is a good idea? That just exudes cheapness. And their noise cancelling system is a joke.

Another commonality I've noticed among Beats owners. They're incapable of using anything close to proper grammar. I mean, what is this? I'm going to assume you made an attempt to type "They're," but got it wrong on so many levels that it's just embarrassing. At least you spelled everything right, that rarely happens.

Deal with it, I complain about grammar.
