ufcxtapout wrote Oh and I saw you hating on the Beats headset series, and I have got to say that I couldn't agree more.

I actually won a pair of Beats Solo's in a contest, and in a week I stopped using them and started using my 20$ ear buds in place. I can't help but laugh, that I was soo hyped up to have gotten them, and just be disappointed in the end. But I've gotta say, I'd rather it work out like that, then to spend that much and be disappointed lol.

My friend won Solos in a contest, too, and he was pretty disappointed when he tried my $20 Portapros. Pretty funny.

Not open, but this is probably the best you're gonna get:

You won't get indestructible, but if you don't use them as rope, you should be fine.

The Yuin G2A is a pretty good clip-on and is open. There's also the AKG K518 if you want closed on-ears, which I think is your best option. There are also the Vsonic GR06 on Ebay.

hey maan
so i posted on here a while ago and you gave some great advice so i thought i'd come back

sooo...

my birthday's coming up in just over a week and i'm asking for $$$$$ or a pair of ultimate ears tf10's or klipsch x10's, and rather than pay full price i was hoping to go with ebay.

my question is:
have you ever bought headphones on ebay?
how safe are they?
i'm obviously going to try my best to find a reputable seller but i just need to know..

i know how easy it is to make knockoffs of headphones and i really dont want to get scammed out of 170 bucks..

also, can you help me pick between the tf10's and x10's? right now i'm leaning heavily towards the tf10's, but i've had great experiences with both brand's budget models so it's really a hard decision for me to make.. i listen to mostly rap but i've really got a variety of anything, pretty much anything p4k tells me to listen to lol........

thanks in advance!
'preciate it bro

Simple. How about neither? The JVC FXT90 is a better option for you if you listen to bassy music. Bass is not the TF10s strong suit, either, so that should rule them out. The Klipsch X10 supposedly has fakes floating around as well, and if you're on Ebay, you want to avoid them if possible, especially if the FXT90 is the better option.

Here's everything you need to know about the FXT90. If the other ones are $170, these are cheaper at $150.

Where have you heard about fake X10's? I've heard of fake S4's, but the X10 was unpopular enough not to be faked.

The TF10 isn't faked either, from what I know. They seem like too much of a hassle to fake. The TF10 should have enough bass for you though (I tried them with Comply TF tips and they were too bassy) provided you get a good fit. They're notoriously hard to fit correctly. If you find them for around $150, get them. Any more and it's a bit of a risk.

The FTX90 is probably your best option, but be forewarned that they're a little bit inferior in terms of absolute sound quality compared to the others. Not that you'd really notice the minute difference without another pair of nice IEM's to compare them to. It's just a little bit of detail that you're using, but you're probably not that anal.
