I think you'll like the JVC HA-FXC51. They're just under 20 quid on Amazon and perform exceptionally for the price.

Check out the Philips Citiscape series. The Downtown (on-ear) and Uptown (over-ear) are both very good options and are 50 GBP and 90 GBP respectively. You would ideally be able to get a hold of the Ultrasone HFI-580, but UK pricing is not very good. You could also get the V-Moda LP, which is extremely bassy, for 105 GBP. The Brainwavz HM5 doesn't have the "V" signature you asked for and is instead neutral, but for the price, the sound quality is unbeatable! The price here is great as well.
