Your budget (make sure you tell me what currency!)

Genres: Mostly Hip Hop/Rap and dance/dubstep.

Type: No preference

I would be using the the headphones/earphones for listening to music on my computer and ipod.

I can afford up to $500 australian dollars.

His going by the Beats Studio price in Oz, $500 AUD. Should give enough room for stuff like V-moda LP2, Sennheiser HD25 Adidas, Ultrasone PRO900 and etc

Budget: 150 CAD or USD. (I can go higher if needed, but $150 is my preferred limit)

Music preference: No preference. I intend on using it for browsing videos and some gaming. (I don't listen to music often, so if a genre IS required, I'd have to go with EDM and rap.)

Type / form factor and portability: Over-ear would be my first choice, but I'll settle for on-ear if the former can't be done. Portability doesn't matter, I will be using them solely for my desktop at home.

Open/Closed: Closed, but it isn't a big issue if open is the only option.

Source(s): Desktop computer and nostril (left or right, you pick).

Just wanted to add a "thank you" beforehand, as I really appreciate that you are helping the community choose a good pair of headphones for their specific situation!

Do you ACTUALLY need noise cancelling (only removes constant, whirring noises) or do you need isolation (everything else)? There's a big difference. If you can deal with isolation, there's the Sennheiser PX360. If you NEED NC, there's the Goldring NS1000.

There's the Audio Technica AD700 if you don't plan on listening to that much music. Closed, there's the Beyerdynamic DT770.

Koss Portapro or Xeport 5010. Hard to recommend over-ear cans at this price point.

2nd post in this thread..

Budget: around $100, no more then $150(US dollars)

Music preference: Mostly dubstep and progressive house. Some rock here and there

Type / form factor and portability: Id prefer over ear (like solrepublic's Track's HD) and im going to be using them during school, so a little bit or portability, while still looking cool.

Open/Closed (Not for in-ear): Closed, i love bass.

Source(s): Listening with my Android deevice (HTC Evo 3D) and my laptop.

Extra: (just added this ) im already considering the Tracks HD from solrepublic, but id like some more choices.
