Couldn't you have just made a comment about cables or heck, cable risers that somehow improve sound?
HURR DURR Beetz has gold wiring which is the best conductor thats why they cost more
I actually saw something similar on Facebook before. My response:
"Gold is used as a coating because it is not as reactive as copper or silver. Gold is not the best conductor. Silver beats it easily. They also don't cost that much when it comes to a simple plated cable.
Beats by Dre is terrible. All scientific measurements have show that Beats by Dre products is inferior or similar to other headphones up to $200USD less. Their frequency response is laughable. Go inside an actual professional studio instead of listening to Beats by Dre advertisements and look at their headphones. I'm welling to bet it's either a Sony, Beyerdynamic, Audio Technica, AKG, Sennheiser or even all the way up to STAX electrostatics.
Go and try some real headphones."

Shure SE215. It won't be 2.5m long, but you can get an extension cable, which will still be within budget. However I don't see the point in a 2.5m long IEM cable for music listening.

Are you sure you need a 2.5mm plug? I can't even remember the last phone I used that needed one of those. I think it was an old Blackberry Pearl.

ebay a 3.5mm to 2.5mm adapter. Should cost no more than $2.

What do you mean? I'm seeing $60 from that site and they're $100 on Amazon.
