For $40 it sounds like a good deal. I doubt there is going to be fakes out there. I wonder how they compare to the SE215

Budget: $170

Music preferences: Rap, Rock, Jazz, Dubstep, Techno

Type/form-factor: Around the ear

Open or closed: Either/or

Listening from: Laptop, iPhone, Android (Come February)

Details: Looking for something that's gonna be comfortable to wear for long car rides and chillin' at home. I was thinking ATH M50s but I want to know what you guys think. I want to keep it on the low end of $170 but I'm willing to go closer to $190.
Thanks for your help.

Beyerdynamic DT770 will be really bassy and really comfy, but they're pretty big and ideally need an amp (luckily it'll still fall within your budget if you can find a DT770 for cheap. Like this: [ Register or Signin to view external links. ] and this: [ Register or Signin to view external links. ]

Less comfy but slightly better technically: [ Register or Signin to view external links. ]

But I'd still go with the Beyers.

Horizon_Aura wrote Sorry guys, but I'm going to do a new request. I really want to make sure I'm spending my money in the right place as it doesn't come easy.

Budget: 130GBP

Music preferences: Bassy stuff (as low as 5Hz), house music, acoustic, Dubstep, DnB, liquid dubstep, stuff like Enigma sorta thing ( [ Register or Signin to view external links. ] , opera, grime, garage, mainstream.

Type/form-factor: Around Ear

Open or closed: Closed (cannot leak any sound!!)

Listening from: Smartphone with exynos sound chip (SG S2)

Details: Have to be extremely comfortable, and they need to produce really good guitar strumming (I try and always get FLAC versions when available) I listen to very long periods of time. They have to be very smart looking, similar to that of the Bose AE2 (I know you don't like bose, but I like the design of them in terms of looks). Listen to Jason Mraz and Ed Sheeran (no hate plox)

I know I'm picky, but as I said I need to spend the money in the right place.

Also:
(For a friend)

Budget: 100 Euros

Music preferences: Same as me.

Type/form-factor: Around ear preferably

Open or closed: Closed (cannot leak any sound)

Listening from: iPad, BlackBerry

Details: Need to be comfortable.

As far as I can tell, these fit your needs best. As far as comfort goes, they seem to be nothing special either way. For your friend, I'd recommend the same. I don't know where he'd buy them, though, I'm unfamiliar with the European headphone market.

I have looked at them, but the cable is 10ft long :russianroulette:

EDIT: You gotta save me R00t, I'm thinking more and more about getting Bose, especially as I can get them VAT free :S HELPPPPP

Look at this: [ Register or Signin to view external links. ]

For your friend, there are quite a few options (that you can also look at):
The Sony ZX700 is hilariously cheap: [ Register or Signin to view external links. ]
The Denon D1100 is much bassier, but not as technically good: [ Register or Signin to view external links. ]

And I wouldn't recommend Etys for most people; I love them, but they have a rather particular sound signature. In ear? The Ultimate Ears Super.fi 5 would be slightly more agreeable. Do you absolutely need a mic? You really limit your options with that.

I've managed to find a pair of Brand New Custom One Pros on eBay from a legit seller for 130 inc shipping. Is that a better option over the HF 580, as the cable length is really off putting... even if I can braid it.

The Beyerdynamic DTX 71 IE should be good for you. The DTX 101 IE is 65 GBP; worth a look.

I'd go for the Custom One for sure.

Either of these should satisfy the bass crave:

Both are very bassy.
