Music preference: Anything from metal core-electronicore. Some ex of bands: All that remains, Abandon all ships, attack attack, atreyu, asking alexandria, Bullet for my valentine, devil wears prada, i see stars, woe is me, miss may i, etc.
Type / form factor and portability: Would prefer in ear, or on ear.
Open/Closed (Not for in-ear): N/A
Source(s): Ipod touch/ computer
Since you listen to lots of rock music, Grados are the way to go. They're the absolute best for rock, and they've got something for lots of price points. If you're willing to spend more, the SR125i is the one I would pick. They also have the SR80i and SR60i at lower price points. The in-your-face-signature will compliment metalcore extremely well! They do leak sound in and out, though. If this is a priority, tell me.

Thank god I have found a post like this!
Well here is the deal, I want MAJOR BASS headphones (Like beats, which I have had myself and are decent.) but what is bad about them? I have had some but they are broken now since I dropped them
Budget: 30-75$
Music preference: Dubstep/Rap strictly for bass
Type / form factor and portability: Over ear headphones (Like beats)
Open/Closed (Not for in-ear): Like beats so yeah
Source(s): My friends tell me I can get better ones for a lot cheaper.
Any idea? I don't need to spend 230$ on beats.

The Sony XB700s are exactly what you're looking for. They'll speak for themselves why Beats are no good. They would be Monster's worst nightmare if they were marketed as well. Monster just has no class and tends to do a lot of false advertising. These will ANNIHILATE Beats!

These don't! The kind of "noise-cancelling" headphones like these have is called passive. It just makes a seal inside the earpads to improve sound, keep ambient noise out, and keep your music in. Active noise cancelling makes sound quality take a hit and needs batteries. Headphones with active cancelling honestly should not be used for music.
I'm not sure how this has not been stickied yet, to be perfectly honest. Not to be conceited, or anything. It just seems to be extremely helpful and I've gotten a truly overwhelming response! I'm glad people are seeing it and taking it to the top!

Thanks. I just wish people would listen to reason a bit more than they do.
For example:
