I was on youtube today and I cam across this video, the video was about your rights with a police officer. Some of the things I thought were really suprising. First off I bet most people didn't know that police cannot legally search any of your belongings without your consent or reasonable suspician, Also just an officers hunch is not a reasonable suspician Although bumper stickers like "got weed" or "F off cops" and stuff like that can be a reasonable suspicion in judges eyes. Also an officer can legally lie to you, so if they say something like "You seem like a good person, when we get down to the station if you cooperate we can give you a document to be signed and you won't be in jail and you'll only have probation." That will almost NEVER be true the cops have almost no control over your sentence and usually it's a confession meaning a judge will determine your sentence and will not always give you probation. A cop cannot ask for I.D. if your not on the streets because you are not required to carry I.D. on the streets, as well the cannot frisk unless you look suspicious or they are detaining you so if you look calm and you haven't done anything wrong and you get frisked one cop may be getting fired very soon. Never wait to be dismissed by an officer or you could be waiting for a long time usually to be arrested always ask "Am I being detained or am I free to go." Usually a cop will end up letting you go if he has no proof of anything so you're not technically being detained. Anything near you while you are being frisked or detained can be used against you even if it was dropped earlier, it is near someone being detained by an officer and the cop will think you dropped it so you wouldn't get caught. So remember everything here and your life might be a lot easier

Just a quick edit if you are doing something illegal you might still be arrested if they somehow find out BUT if you don't consent to searches they do it anyway and they find something hidden it doesn't hold up in a court of law so you win both ways if everything is hidden and you don't consent to searches
