The Entertainment Software Rating Board has released their rating summary for the upcoming Xbox 360 exclusive title, Halo: Combat Evolved Anniversary. Just like the original Xbox game, the remake received an M (for Mature) rating due to content relating to blood, gore and violence. You can check out the latest screens from the first-person shooter in the slideshow to the left of this article and the full description provided by the ESRB below:
This is an enhanced remake of the 2001 first-person shooter Halo: Combat Evolved. Players assume the role of Master Chief, a super-soldier who engages in futuristic battles against a powerful alien alliance. Players use plasma pistols, sniper rifles, machine guns, and rocket launchers to kill enemy creatures in frenetic combat. Firefights are accompanied by realistic gunfire, large explosions, and cries of pain. Frequent blood-splatter effects occur when enemies are shot, sometimes staining the surrounding environment; aliens often break into bloody fragments when killed.
Halo: Combat Evolved Anniversary is currently being developed by 343 Industries, who are also developing the next trilogy in the series starting with Halo 4. Microsoft Studios will publish the first-person shooter when it launches exclusively for the Xbox 360 in North America on November 15th.
