I don't see why you think you've lost already. Winning and losing on TTG is only determined by likes. No one takes into consideration the general basics of graphics and bases their vote on that. If more people like yours more than someone elses, you will win so don't think you will lose without having even started a battle.

I've seen people come back after months of inactivity as far as I know. I'm sure you could make something if you tried.
