So it said you need a CoD elite membership and you will get all Dlc for free when they come out for MW3. i got my Beta invite and signed up ages ago now, does this mean i will get the DLC for free or do i need to pay for them?

No that's just the beta when MW3 comes out u have to buy elite which is like 5 bucks a month OR get the harden edition which gives u elite for a year for free. Then the maps are free when they do come out.

30-40 pounds per person who gets the beta
in that case what would be the point in the hardened edition :facepalm:
