Here is a simple guide on how to fix it. You do need an install disc though. [ Register or Signin to view external links. ]
I searched around and it all lead to you needing a XP disc. The reason is because that is what allows you to access a command prompt. Also here is another one. It's more complicated but it's 100% likely to fix the problem. [ Register or Signin to view external links. ]
Also call up HP again and see if they can fix it once and for all because if these options don't work its definitely still a hardware related problem.

I am on Windows 7 though, that is for Windows xp. I also found that when I searched around.

Sorry. Didn't know. But pretty much the same thing applies. You still need a repair disc or Windows 7 disc. You need to go into the command prompt on the disc and do this.

1. Go to command prompt.
2. Type chkdsk /r
3. Go through all repairs.
4. After restart go into the BIOS and check that all AHCI and RAID features are off (SATA drives calling IDE must be on), Save all changes and restart.

That's the problem, I can't check the BIOS AHCI and RAID features, because my BIOS doesn't have an advanced options tab, it's insydeH20 rev 3.5. From my research, making sure the SATA thing is fixed is supposed to help, yet I am unable to do that.

The last step isn't required. Sorry. Forgot to mention that.

It wont matter because you are not installing the OS. Just repairing something. What the "chkdsk /r" thing I said to do does is look for bad sectors with the hard drive and repair them. But I fount this Boot CD that does it in a simpler way. All you need to do is burn it to a disc via Burn ISO. [ Register or Signin to view external links. ] You can do this or continue the way you are doing it. Either way shows the same result.

Heya, just wondering if this got the problem sorted? I'm new in the PC Support section, and eager to help!

If you cannot get to the repair section of your CD, I have a Windows 7 disk, specifically for repair, which I could upload for you.

Failing that, you could use a 'program' like MiniPE to repair it?
