What my Dazzle quality looks like
You MUST have Sony Vegas 9.0-10.0 for this tutorial to be completely successful. Otherwise,
your outcome won't be as clean as the one that includes Sony Vegas. You must also use
Pinnacle Studio (Preferably 14) and have a good processor (If you want to record longer than 20
seconds).
The type of Dazzle I have: Dazzle Video Creator Plus HD (The black one)
And yes, I Do use S-Video. Here is the difference between regular, and s-video.
S-Video:
Composite:
Anyways, let's begin the tutorial. This thread did take me quite a while, so please leave me some
appreciation and feedback. Here is the tutorial, completely written and provided by me. All
screenshots, and text is mine. I did not steal this tutorial from anyone, it is completely custom by me

First off, you want to open Pinnacle Studio 14. Make sure no other programs are open, so your Pinnacle studio can run faster, and record longer without lagging.
Second, you're going to want to click 'Import'. It should bring up this screen:
Second, click the little arrow to the right of 'Presets'
Click 'Compression Codec' under Video settings and choose MPEG-2. Move the datarate up to 10
Next, you are going to press CTRL+ALT+DEL. Then click 'Start Task Manager'
Click the Processes tab, and find "Importer.exe" Right click it, and hover over 'Set Priority" then choose High.
Now you are ready to record ! Record your video, and wa-la! You now have the best possible Dazzle settings! Next, you want to open the video you recorded into Sony Vegas. Start a new project, and choose these settings.
Then drag your clip into the timeline. You should see these black bars at the side of the video. I will show you how to remove them
Right click the video on the timeline, and click 'Properties'. Uncheck "Maintain Aspect Ratio"
Now, there will be a slight black bar remaining, I will show you how to get rid of this as well.
Find your video on the timeline, and click this little box to the right of the video
Click in the top right corner of the dash-lined box, and drag it in slightly
The black bars will be completely gone.
You could add a color correction if you want, but I wouldn't recommend it with a Dazzle. Anyways, after you are done editing/chopping up the vid, you are ready to render. Choose "File" and "Render as". Name it whatever you want, and save the File type as "Sony AVC". Then click "Custom"
Click the "Project" tab, and change the "Video rendering quality" to Best. Then render.
Here is the finished project :

Great for those who are just getting started and want to get the best quality but if you are trying to get partnered and have a semi succesful channel you might as well switch up to the HD PVR. Still great post
