Because you are getting scammed if you buy that pre-built crap. Here's how it really is.
Some cheap HP case - $30.
Some cheap M-ATX motherboard - $50.
Some cheesy PSU - $30.
CPU - $250 - $300.
Some slow Hitachi drive - $35.
Standard DVD drive - $15.
Standard kit of 8gb's of ram - $35
Some 'dedicated' video card, when in reality it's crap ( 5450 ) - $40.
Now, tell me how that's worth $899.99. You have ABSOLUTELY NO upgrade options, AT ALL.
Don't believe all those misleading stickers.
